   Prevent or Control Diabetes

People who are active are less likely to have metabolic syndrome or get type 2 diabetes.

Moderate to Vigorous Exercise

Moderate to vigorous exercise - at least 2 to 2 ½ hours a week — is the most effective way to cut the risk of these health problems. Exercise may also decrease blood sugar levels and Hb A1-C, a test that measures these levels.

Physical activity may help prevent diabetes during pregnancy (called gestational diabetes).

Physical activity helps make your waistline smaller. The amount of abdominal fat you have is an important measure of your health.
